Welcome to Collection Candles. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of collectioncandles.com and your purchase of products from us. By accessing the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. About Us

Collection Candles is a small, independently operated candle-making business based in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Our products are handmade in small batches, so slight variations in appearance, scent throw, and colour between items are normal and not considered defects.

2. Use of the Site

You agree to use the site only for lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Use the site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site

  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access or collect data from the site

  • Post or transmit any harmful, misleading, or unlawful content through the site (e.x. in reviews or contact forms)

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the site if we believe you've violated these terms.

3. Products and Descriptions

We make every effort to display our products, including colours, scents, and descriptions, as accurately as possible. However:

  • Colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen settings

  • Because our candles are handmade, minor variations between batches are expected

  • We reserve the right to limit quantities, discontinue products, or correct errors in product descriptions or pricing at any time, without notice

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in CAD and are subject to change without notice. Applicable taxes will be calculated at checkout based on your shipping location.

Payment is processed securely through our third-party payment provider(s) (e.x. Stripe, PayPal, Wix Payments). We do not store your full payment card details.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including in cases of suspected fraud, pricing errors, or unavailable stock. If your order is cancelled after payment, you will receive a full refund.

5. Shipping and Returns

Shipping timelines and rates are outlined in our Shipping Policy. Our policies on returns, exchanges, and refunds are outlined in our Return & Refund Policy. By placing an order, you agree to the terms in both of those policies.

6. Candle Safety and Proper Use

Your safety matters to us. By purchasing our candles, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Always burn candles within sight, away from drafts, flammable materials, children, and pets

  • Trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm) before each burn

  • Burn candles on a heat-resistant, stable surface

  • Do not burn a candle for longer than 4 hours at a time

  • We are not responsible for damage, injury, or loss resulting from improper use, misuse, or failure to follow standard candle safety practices. Full care instructions are included with your order and/or on our website.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site including text, images, logos, graphics, and product photography is the property of Collection Candles and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Collection Candles is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or our products, including but not limited to loss of property, injury, or damages resulting from improper candle use.

Our total liability for any claim related to a product purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for that product.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable Canadian or Ontario law (for example, liability for gross negligence or for defective products under consumer protection legislation).

9. Third-Party Links and Services

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites or use third-party services (such as Wix, payment processors, or shipping carriers) that are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business or for legal reasons. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Effective Date." Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
